QA Wireless
Overview
Quality Assurance for Wireless is the adaptation of a regular QA process to the needs of mobile/wireless software projects.
QA Wireless much differs from standard application testing and has its specific character due to the various features related to the hardware, but not to the program tested.
The following is to be taken into consideration:
- Phone display size and display mode (landscape or portrait) are taken into consideration when testing program graphic interface;
- Memory cards support;
- Installation/un-installation (via Bluetooth, DATA CABLE) ‘Back’, ‘Home’ key mechanism;
- Network related issues (GPRS connection, Access points);
- Standard phone functions (receiving and making calls, sending text messages, etc.);
- Abnormal exit;
- Low battery;
- Low disk space;
- Memory leak.
Additionally, there is significant difference in wireless handsets produced by different vendors. Samsung devices behave differently to Nokia devices, and so on. That behaviour needs to be validated on specified platforms.
