JBoss Development

Overview

JBoss is an open-source J2EE application server, which comprises a full set of products and tools for building of enterprise-level software solutions. It was developed by the similarly-named company and is the most widely used Java application server today. JBoss refers to a class of open-source products as well as many other commercially developed programs which may be download and used for free; however, support and consulting services are to be paid for. Free-of-charge basis and good realization of J2EE principles make it possible to consider JBoss one of the main competitors for the providers of similar software solutions.

JBoss Application Server helps to develop and deploy enterprise Java applications, Web applications, and Portals providing the full range of J2EE 1.4 features as well as extended enterprise services including clustering, caching, and persistence.

JBoss Messaging – a JBoss enterprise asynchronous messaging system;
JBoss Transactions – a service which protects businesses from data corruption by guaranteeing complete, accurate business transactions for Java based applications thereby eliminating the risks and costs associated with time-consuming manual reconciliation following failures;
JBoss SEAM – a framework for development of rich web client interfaces.
