Qulix Systems Has Summarized its Work for the Year 2008

Quality and performance of software development processes are directly dependent on complexity of projects and aggravation of competition on the IT-market. This issue becomes particularly vital amid the global financial crisis.

Current customers require services being provided by true professionals, who are able to demonstrate a deep knowledge of the IT-market and flexibility in responding to their queries.

Software Quality Assurance has always been on the top for Qulix Systems since the Company's foundation. For the years of its operating the Company has gained significant experience working with various customers, projects and communication models. In 2008 the Company put a priority on maintaining its customers and quality improvement of implemented projects.

Qulix Systems keeps turning its business to "smart" services and the public sector demand for contemporary automation is the motive force of this turn.

Maturity of Qulix Systems is proved by the fact that the Company was given the title of a High-Technology Park Resident and the status of an "Inforpark" Association member in 2008. The governmental support of the Company is an evidence of Qulix' stability and prove of high quality of the services provided by the Company.

"Getting of the High-Technology Park Resident status has become the admission of our merits. We have made the big time in IT-outsourcing of the republic. Moreover, we have been keeping this direction for a long time improving quality of the provided services and qualifications of our specialists, collaborating with Belarusian universities. As a High Technology Park resident we actively expand our activities, attract new customers and promote professional development of our specialists. Therefore, offer of miscellaneous IT-services is among main goals of the Company this year."

Within the program of expanding regional presence Qulix Systems opened a new business-class office in the centre of Minsk and continued forming a team of highly qualified specialists. By the end of the year more than a third of Qulix software developers obtained Microsoft.NET and Sun Java Platform certificates. This made it possible to implement complex products using the newest technologies.

In 2008 the Company fixed its stable business positions and successfully completed about 100 projects for more than 40 clients all over the world. It is remarkable that the third part of the customers is new to the Company. At the same time, regular clients, collaborating with Qulix for more than one year, remain one of the main Qulix values.

According to the VP of Business Development Alexander Arabey, the number of Qulix customers grew due to Baltic and Scandinavian countries in 2008. The Company also expanded its presence on the UK IT-market. On the one hand, these regions offer a high level development of IT-services, on the other, they are uptight about outsourcing.

The outlet for major public customers and the launch of new software development technologies are among the main trends for Qulix Systems this year. The Company has refocused its business from the corporate information systems development to the development of public sector systems, viz. social network, entertaining and information resources, based on delivering media content to mobile devices.

"During the past year we actively developed GPS services. The range of the implemented products was diverse enough. In association with a well-known English company we developed the service that helped people to get emergency care in case of an accident pushing a single button on their cell phones. No one knows how many lives were saved thanks to this solution… As usual, we also cannot go without the programs that help business owners to control their employees, wives - their husbands, mothers - their children."

These projects are not only an opportunity to gain invaluable experience for the Company, but at the same time a strong pride for the team members involved into the implementation.

"I would like to mention some terms: a highly-distributed, loosely-coupled network, a common control centre, synchronization, guaranteed delivery. Thanks to the teamwork of the software architects, business analysts and developers we have fulfilled the customer's ideas: designed an optimal architecture of the system and its components, unified the exchange protocols, provided a cross platform environment for the system operation, added an asynchronous connection with mobile devices. In 2008 Qulix Systems also managed to sum up its experience in the sphere of logistic system building, gained for the previous years. The Company has been developing such systems for more than 5 years. The ability to adapt the system quickly to new businesses has become the main aim of the optimisaion.
