The Development of a Document Management System

The customer is a large trading company in the UK. The goal was to centralize and order contract relations with providers in conditions of the complex distributed structure of the company.

It includes contract management, internal document workflow, centralized catalogue with extended description of goods and marketing collaterals. The necessity to closely integrate the developed system with the existing information systems of the customer was a special feature of the project.

The prime contractor of this project, a UK company-integrator, authorized our company to implement all the tasks, connected with design, development and testing of the solution, keeping only management of the project, communication with the client, business analysis and distribution.

Implemented tasks

  • Development of the object model for hierarchy of documents types (over 30);
  • Development of the documents life cycle and working processes in accordance with business processes of the company;
  • Development of the user interface for all documents types (webtop + AJAX);
  • Development of the supplementary controls;
  • Development of the functions to create and modify documents;
  • Development of the printed document forms;
  • Enhancement of the audit and modifications history functionality;
  • Development of the information rights management module (support of branch complex structure);
  • Integration with the supply management system;
  • Integration with the discount management system.

The system is operating now.
